Relevancy-Ageless

Reflecting on conversations and complaints from some of my retired friends and frankly, thoughts I've had as well, it occurs I have been hearing this and feeling this part of my whole life, as I think most of us do.
I guess as you transition to what some called retirement, or you move from a career to a paid vocational or hobby, it surfaces again.
In fact, as you think about it, did we want nothing more as a kid than to be treated like an adult; someone who seemed to matter, who seemed to be listened to who could tell you what to do and decide to stay up late and drive a car?
Well, it seems no one can make you irrelevant or relevant, only you can.
Lots may try and life happens.
What you learn, what you say ; and do you align your actions with beliefs and outcomes and a sense of who you want to be?
Like going to your auto mechanic as they check annually for your alignment for your car's wheels.
Relevancy is checking your alignment.
Whether your plans or dreams are lofty, simple or complex - what you want, what you get and who you are, are up to you.
Oh sure, there are confusing times, changing life situations, rerouting and potholes along the way, to keep the car metaphor going.
So, I and others may tend to wallow in it now and then.
A friend at one point when I asked how he was doing said he was a PIP.
I had to ask what's a PIP?
He said it was a Previously Important Person.
He was joking, kind of, as he was a VIP, Very Important Person not long ago by some corporate professional's definitions.
